Combine in 2-Quart glass measuring pitcher.
2 cups sugar, ½ cup water
Cook uncovered in microwave 6 minutes on high, or until sugar is dissolved.
Stir peanuts into mixture.
Cook uncovered in microwave to hard-crack stage (8-10 minutes on high). Stirring twice.
Add baking soda and vanilla to mixture; mix well.
Pour onto 2 lightly buttered large baking sheets, spreading as thinly as possible.
As soon as candy is cool enough to handle, wet hands with water and stretch as thin as desired.
Turn candy over and cool completely.
When firm and cool, break into medium-sized pieces.
Store in a tightly covered container (makes about 2 pounds)
