Oatmeal Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cup water boiling
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ⅓ cup flour sifted
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp soda

Topping

  • 6 tbsp oleo melted
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup canned milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup nuts
  • ½ cup coconut

Instructions
 

  • Pour boiling water over oatmeal.
    1 ¼ cup water, 1 cup oatmeal
  • Add and let stand 20 minutes.
    1 stick oleo
  • Add
    1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs
  • Sift together
    1 ⅓ cup flour, ½ tsp nutmeg, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp soda
  • mix well with 1st ingredients.
  • Bake in 9×13 greased and floured pan at 350° for 35 minutes.

Topping

  • Mix all together and spread on top of hot cake and broil 5 minutes.
    6 tbsp oleo, ½ cup sugar, ¼ cup canned milk, ½ tsp vanilla, ½ cup nuts, ½ cup coconut
