Combine in 10 inch skillet bringing to boil stirring constantly.
2 tbsp butter, 1 ½ cups brown sugar, 1 ½ cups water, ½ tsp morton salt
Remove from heat.
Sift together in mixing bowl.
1 ¼ cups flour, ⅓ cup sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt
Cut in.
2 tbsp butter
Combine ⅓ cup plus 1 tablespoon milk and vanilla.
Add to dry ingredients all at once and mix dough.
Heat caramel mix to boiling.
Drop by tablespoons into simmering sauce.
Cover tightly and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat. Serve plain or with cream.
