Rolled Ginger Cookies
Crisp and full of warm spices these are a Christmas treat.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ c shortening
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 3/4 c light molasses
- 1 1/2 tsp soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tblsp + 1 tsp ginger
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp cloves
- 4 c flour
- 1 c optional raw sugar to sprinkle on the top of the cookies
Instructions
- Cream shortening, sugar, and molasses until fluffy
- Combine dry ingredients and then mix them in adding it slowly
- Refrigerate 3+ hours
- Roll and cut into shapes, optionally top with a sprinkle of raw sugar
- Bake a lightly greased sheet 12-15 minutes @ 350°
