Heavenly Onion Casserole

Course Side Dish

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 3 medium sweet Spanish onions sliced
  • 8 ounce fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup undiluted
  • 1 5 oz can evaporated milk
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 6-8 slices French bread ½ inch thick
  • 6-8 slices Swiss Cheese

Instructions
 

  • In a skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms in butter until tender.
  • Put in 12 x 7 ½ x 2 baking dish.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  • Combine soup, milk and soy sauce then pour over cheese.
  • Top with bread and cheese slices.
  • Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
  • Bake loosely covered at 375° for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake 15-20 minutes longer or until heated thru.
  • Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package spaghetti
  • 4 tbsp shortening
  • 1 ½ pound hamburger
  • ½ pound sausage
  • ½ cup onions chopped
  • ½ cup green pepper
  • 2 ½ cups canned tomatoes (#2 can)
  • 2 ½ cups canned whole corn (#2 can)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • romano cheese

Instructions
 

  • Cook spaghetti and drain.
  • Melt shortening in large skillet.
  • Brown meat with onion and green pepper.
  • Turn into large kettle with tomatoes and corn, salt and pepper.
  • Simmer slowly for 1 hour.
  • Add cooked spaghetti and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Serve with grated Romano cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices bread cut crusts from 4
  • 3-4 cups chicken (crab, turkey or shrimp)
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 3-4 stalks celery
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup mayonaise
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 4 oz package Old English cheese
  • paprika

Instructions
 

  • Dice 4 slices of bread plus crusts from the other 4 slices and place in the bottom of a large greased casserole.
  • Mix together and spread over bread cubes.
    3-4 cups chicken (crab, turkey or shrimp), 1 onion, 1 green pepper, 3-4 stalks celery, 1 can mushrooms, ½ cup mayonaise
  • Place other 4 slices of bread on top.
  • Beat together and pour over bread slices.
    4 eggs, 3 cups milk
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Bake in 325° oven for 15 minutes then spread mushroom soup over and sprinkle cheese and paprika on top.
  • Return to oven for 1 hour.
